As you all know, there are rumblings and discussions about a potential full-scale move out to the county, specifically Paleto Bay. We would like to hear all of your comments, concerns and questions in one place! Please reply with anything, irregardless if it’s positive or negative.

Take this as an opportunity to play a part in shaping the future of this community. Thank you <3

Honestly, it's a nice move, especially when we have an IC reason for that at the moment, which might be really cool to get RP connected in a small space before running into a huge one. Now people can actually meet each other without driving for hours and try to find someone to RP. Of course, I am missing city too, but at this moment in time, it's the best option to collect everyone together, roleplay and raise our playerbase by active RP.

P.S. Idk, u can hate me but I think we moving in a right lane.

long as i can haul ass with my trailer, where my depot is dont matter, so based paleto

While I can see the idea behind moving a small community into a small-sized area to encourage more random encounters, the area of Paleto Bay is just way too small in my opinion:

Is there any beta or cut content around Paleto Bay? : r/GTAV

Paleto Bay is a village, which consists of 4 short streets and 3 long avenues, if you include the main highway. Its developed area takes up barely half of a square mile.

The following facilities can be naturally found at Paleto Bay:

  • Bank

  • Hunting/Firearm Store

  • County Sheriff's Department with Heliport

  • Medical Center

  • Fire House

  • Clothing Shop

  • Barber

  • Repair Garage

  • Natural Park

  • Low-Density Shops

  • Low-Density Houses

  • Motel

  • Beach with a Pier

  • Factories

  • Parking Lots

The following facilities would NOT be found at Paleto Bay, that are available in Los Santos:

  • City Hall

  • Courthouse

  • International Airport

  • Civilian Heliport

  • Boat Docks

  • Industrial Docks

  • High-Density Apartments

  • Car Dealerships

  • High-Density Malls & Hotels

  • High-Rise Offices

  • Designer Parks

  • More than 1 Bank

  • More than 1 Clothing Shop and Barber

  • More than 1 Repair Garage.

  • More than 1 Convenience Store

  • Multi-Story Parking Buildings

Sure, you can argue that most of these could just be shoved into Paleto Bay. But, let's be honest - that wouldn't look natural.

There are already many ways players have to rally each other together, if they want to incentisive roleplay. However, being able to potentially escape from trouble in a big city is also part of the appeal of many people who play RPP, which will be all but null if we're forced to hide within half of a square mile area.

I urge everyone to just try navigating Paleto Bay and make their own opinion. But, honestly, Paleto Bay, the way it is right now, should be an "away" area of the map that our characters would use to "lay low," not the main play area, as it's just not nearly as well-developed, nor nearly as interesting as Los Santos.

I agree with user

Its a short term thing that absolutely people will get bored of. Less history, less do to do. Etc

Only with the right optimizations do I think it would be a great choice to stay. A lot of the new additions run quite intensively on my PC, and I'd honestly hate to sacrifice fidelity for a new area when interiors can be designed quite beautifully.

In terms of roleplaying I love the idea of actively putting everyone in one area for certain amounts of time. With this concept, every part of the map can be fleshed out, and I can get (and already have) more connections than I would in the city.

I think this idea truly shines, though, if we do eventually go back to the city, and take these connections with us. A big thing I struggle with is the actual meeting of people, and this cuts out a large part of that difficulty.

So, perhaps we do an extended recovery period regarding LS in order to build connections? I am not opposed to it, maybe a temporary move to help shape the future. Haven’t thought of it like that

Personally I like the idea of being focused in Paleto as opposed to Los Santos. With the current playerbase, Paleto is large enough to sustain it without being too large as to feel empty like it did in the city. Sure it's missing some things like Userone mentioned, but most of those things are minor and would not really affect the day-to-day roleplay of 99% of players. With a few mapping additions, the city could be made livable while maintaining it's realistic feel. Also it's not like you're getting blown up if you leave town while evading. The entire highway section is open, flee to Sandy Shores, etc.

It could be a temporary move, but it shouldn't be based on a period of time but rather the playerbase. If the playerbase grows enough to sustain a larger spread of players, open up Sandy Shores and flesh it out. If it grows more, Los Santos becomes a focus again. Moving to Paleto caters to the player count.

but paleto is way too limited in what it offers, no real space or venues for business, its small. To help the player base, there should be a focus on events

this isint even to mention the already established factions and businesses already around. this seems like a bandaid that will quickly lose it luster

I'm assuming this guy got banned or something but I'm responding either way.

The issue, if that's the right word to use, is the player count. It's too little for Los Santos. I've driven around during peak times and 98% of the city is empty except for like 3 Hotspots. Even with the focus on Los Santos, county RP happened with people going there to race etc, often times /where would show people outside of LS. Focusing on the smaller area, but leaving the outside of it open for exploration would make the server feel more lively. Sure it has downsides but the cons of it are seemingly less than the pros in my view.

i would like to see Roxwood County RP or something like that if the server wants to put more focus in the northern regions
