Faction Flags

Featured Replies

I’d suggest creating some sort of system of configurable faction flags. These would allow certain features to be enabled or disabled for each faction without requiring every legal faction to have the same capabilities.

General faction flags

  • DUTY — Allows members to use /duty.

  • LOADOUT — Allows the faction to create duty loadouts. Approved equipment becomes available when a member uses /duty.

  • EVIDENCE_STORAGE — Gives the faction access to evidence storage.

  • IMPOUND — Allows members to access an impound system.

  • MDT — Gives members access to a faction MDT.

  • RADIO — Gives members access to faction radio channels.

  • CUFF — Allows members to restrain players.

  • SEARCH — Allows members to search detained players.

Firearm Tier Flags

Weapon access should be controlled separately from the general LOADOUT flag. Having access to duty loadouts should not automatically give a faction access to every firearm.

  • WEAPON_LESS_LETHAL — Tasers, beanbag shotguns, 40mm

  • WEAPON_PISTOL — Standard duty handguns.

  • WEAPON_SHOTGUN — Standard lethal shotguns.

  • WEAPON_SMG — Submachine guns or similar weapons.

  • WEAPON_RIFLE — Patrol rifles and other AR-platform weapons.

  • WEAPON_MARKSMAN — Precision or designated-marksman rifles.

  • WEAPON_SPECIAL — Specialized weapons requiring direct administrative approval.

Rank-level permissions

Faction flags should determine what the faction is permitted to have, while rank permissions determine which members can use or manage those features.

For example:

  • USE_LOADOUT

  • ACCESS_STORAGE

  • ACCESS_ARMORY

  • PURCHASE_EQUIPMENT
