Pillbox Hill Medical Center is a comprehensive medical institution serving the residents of Los Santos and the surrounding communities of San Andreas.

From routine consultations and diagnostic evaluations to emergency treatment, surgery, hospitalization, and long-term care, Pillbox Hill Medical Center provides a setting in which patients can receive treatment across a broad range of medical needs.

Beyond patient care, PHMC serves as a center for medical education and professional development. OUR STORY

Located in the heart of Downtown Los Santos, Pillbox Hill Medical Center has long stood as the principal hospital serving the city's central districts.

Operating as a general hospital, PHMC has developed around the changing healthcare needs of a growing metropolitan population. Its facilities have historically supported a broad range of medical services, including emergency medicine, radiology, ultrasound, endoscopy, urology and medical physics, alongside the wider clinical and support services expected of a major urban medical center.

By 2013, Pillbox Hill Medical Center was already a well-established part of Los Santos' healthcare infrastructure. Its central location placed the hospital within reach of some of the city's busiest residential, commercial and governmental districts, making it an important destination for both routine and emergency medical care.

The hospital has not been entirely removed from the more unusual chapters of Los Santos history. In 2013, PHMC sustained structural damage during a highly publicized incident involving Vinewood actor Al Di Napoli, whose vehicle entered the medical center during a pursuit before crashing through part of the facility. The affected areas were subsequently secured while repairs were undertaken.

In the years that followed, PHMC continued to serve Central Los Santos as medicine, technology and the needs of the city evolved around it.

Today, Pillbox Hill Medical Center enters another period of development.

Under renewed leadership, PHMC is expanding its clinical and organizational capabilities with the goal of strengthening its position as a multidisciplinary center for patient care, medical education and professional development.

This next chapter is built upon the hospital's established place within Los Santos while looking toward what it can become: an institution where experienced professionals and the next generation of healthcare personnel can work alongside one another, where departments collaborate rather than operate in isolation, and where the needs of the patient remain at the center of care.

For Pillbox Hill Medical Center, its history is not simply something to preserve.

It is the foundation upon which its future is being built.

CLINICAL CARE

Healthcare extends far beyond a single department.

Pillbox Hill Medical Center is being developed as a multidisciplinary institution in which patients can move naturally between different areas of care depending upon their medical needs.

Emergency Medicine

The Emergency Department serves as PHMC's primary point of care for patients experiencing acute illness or injury.

Emergency physicians and clinical personnel assess, stabilize, diagnose, and treat patients arriving at the hospital before determining whether they may safely return home or require further specialist or inpatient care.

Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions affecting adult patients.

Internists may manage both acute and chronic conditions, coordinate complex cases involving multiple specialties, and oversee patients requiring continued hospital care.

Surgery

The Department of Surgery provides operative and procedural care to patients requiring surgical intervention.

From initial surgical consultation and pre-operative evaluation through the procedure itself and subsequent recovery, surgical care involves close coordination between surgeons and other members of the patient's medical team.

Psychiatry & Behavioral Health

Mental and physical wellbeing are closely connected.

Psychiatric and behavioral health services provide assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and continued support for patients experiencing mental health concerns.

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Obstetric and gynecological services provide care relating to reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, and other conditions affecting women's health.

Pediatrics

Pediatric services focus on the medical needs of infants, children, and adolescents, recognizing that younger patients often require approaches to assessment and treatment distinct from those used in adult medicine.

Diagnostic & Support Services

Effective treatment begins with understanding what is happening.

Diagnostic services support clinical departments through laboratory testing, medical imaging, and other investigative procedures that allow clinicians to evaluate patients and make informed treatment decisions.

As PHMC continues to develop, additional specialties and clinical services may be introduced according to the needs of the hospital and the wider community.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CARE

Effective healthcare depends upon professionals with different responsibilities working together throughout a patient's treatment.

Physicians & Surgeons

Physicians are responsible for evaluating patients, establishing diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and coordinating medical care.

Residents & Physicians in Training

Medical education forms an important part of PHMC.

As their experience grows, residents may gradually assume greater responsibility for patient care.

Nursing

Pillbox Hill Medical Center believes that medical knowledge should be developed through both education and experience.

Not every member of PHMC is expected to arrive as an experienced healthcare professional. The hospital is intended to provide opportunities for characters at different stages of their medical careers.

Training may include departmental orientation, clinical education, supervised practice, scenario-based exercises, competency development, and specialist instruction.

Experienced personnel are encouraged to mentor developing colleagues, while those entering new areas of medicine are given opportunities to learn through structured guidance and practical experience.

Progression within PHMC is intended to represent more than time served.

Greater responsibility should reflect demonstrated knowledge, judgement, professionalism, participation, and the ability to contribute positively to both patient care and the wider hospital environment.

LIFE AT PHMC

Medicine is rarely predictable.

A shift at Pillbox Hill Medical Center may begin with routine consultations and quickly develop into an emergency admission requiring cooperation between several specialties.

A patient arriving through the Emergency Department may require diagnostic imaging, specialist consultation, surgery, hospitalization, psychiatric evaluation, or continued outpatient care.

But hospital life extends beyond individual cases.

Medicine is extraordinarily complex, and no roleplay environment can or should attempt to reproduce every element of real-world healthcare.

Instead, PHMC aims to find a balance.

We value believable medical practice, professional standards, continuity of care, and meaningful consequences while recognizing that ultimately we are here to create enjoyable stories together.

That means encouraging people to learn without expecting perfection.

It means providing structure without creating bureaucracy for its own sake.

It means allowing mistakes to become opportunities for development rather than reasons to discourage participation.

And above all, it means remembering that behind every patient, physician, nurse, administrator, and first responder is another player contributing to the same shared world.

Pillbox Hill Medical Center is the primary hospital-focused medical faction within Roleplay Project.

Our objective is to develop an accessible but immersive environment for players interested in healthcare roleplay, regardless of whether they have extensive medical knowledge or are approaching the subject for the first time.

You do not need real-world medical experience to participate in PHMC.

Members will have access to faction resources, documentation, training, and support intended to help them portray their roles convincingly without requiring them to memorize medical textbooks.

Likewise, players with real-world healthcare knowledge are welcome and encouraged to contribute their experience, provided that realism remains balanced against gameplay, server lore, faction standards, and the experience of other players.

PHMC places particular emphasis on collaborative roleplay.

Medical encounters should create opportunities for interaction rather than simply becoming exercises in technical knowledge. Whenever possible, our members are encouraged to involve patients and other participants in the story rather than treating medicine as something happening around them.

The faction is currently under active development. Departments, training systems, internal documentation, recruitment procedures, and other operational elements will continue to expand as PHMC approaches full operational capacity.
