A very trashy suggestion (AKA Dumpster Diving)

Featured Replies

I know its a long shot, and probs doesnt actually need to exist, however Id like to see usable and searchable dumpsters.

:: Mechanics ::

  1. Walk up to dumpster
  2. Press a hotkey to search OR a command like /searchbin or /sbin
  3. Bin could pull up a UI that shows contents and allows players to Take or Place from inventory.

:: Potential Items one could find ::

  • Food (Spoiled and Safe) *Spoiled food could add short term illness*
  • Random Items/Junk (Some that might be useful for crafting, or are able to be traded for cash at a scrapyard/Trash facility/Pawnshop depending on Item)
  • Super Rare chance to find illicit Items (Highly Optional)
  • Any Items Players place into the bins

:: Empty Cycle/Bin Clearance ::

Bins could be cleared/emptied in two ways

  • A defined reset cycle: IE every 7 Days
  • Whenever someone from the trash job interacts and empties the bin (IE trash job worker interfaces with the bin and it clears)

:: Potential Benefits ::

  • Would allow to players to throw objects away while also allowing for RP around homelessness/scavengers/nomadic lifestyles.
  • would allow both Legal and Illegal characters a chance to dispose of, and recover evidence.
  • Would potentially add a more interesting twist to the trash job (Meaning Player owned trashwaste companies could exist with a defined purpose and actual task)

We had this system.

It just vanished while we bug-fixed it.

I will add it back for you now and bug-fix it.
