Roleplay Project · Development Update
Flying through development, ahead of schedule

Quick update from the development team. The short version: we’ve had our share of hard nights, but we’re ahead of where we expected to be. The fully working version is on track to land Friday 13 June (the one after the Friday that’s coming, not the one tomorrow), in time for the setup period that opens the same day.

SECTION 01 Where we are
✔ Ahead of schedule
A few weeks ago we set ourselves a target for first playable. We hit it. Then we kept going. The core systems that we planned to be “working for the setup week” are working today, and the polish that we expected to be doing on launch night is already in.

The team has been putting absurd hours into this. Some of that has been hard, more on that below, but the practical result is that we’ve had time to do things properly instead of doing them twice. We’d rather you see what we’ve actually built than read another “soon” post, so a tour follows.

SECTION 02 What’s in your hands this week

Five working systems on the FiveM build, all wired up and being battered by internal play tests.

UI-01Live Player List Overlay WORKING
See who’s online at a glance. Search by character name, see who’s holding which subscription tier (RPP+, Gold, Platinum, Silver, Bronze) and which players are staff. Live ping next to every row. Screenshot to follow when the post is published.
UI-02Queue System WORKING
When the server is full, you wait. While you wait you see your live position, the total queue, an honest estimated wait, and a calm progress bar. No more “is it stuck or am I in?” This goes live for everyone the day the server opens, so it’ll see real load on the first night.
RP-01Property Time of Day WORKING
Property owners can override the time of day inside their building independently of the server clock. Pick a preset (Dawn, Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Dusk, Night, Late Night, Midnight) or set an exact hour and minute. Reset clears the override and the building falls back to server time. Useful for late night clubs that need to be dark at 2pm on a Saturday.
RP-02Animations & Emotes WORKING
Browsable emotes menu split by category (dances, greetings, walkstyles) with search and clear /e command hints next to every entry. One click to play, one button to stop. The starter library will grow week on week.
RP-03Property Purchase: Buy, Finance, Lease WORKING
Standing at a for sale board now opens a proper three tab purchase flow. Buy outright, finance over time, or lease as a tenant. Live bank balance preview shows your balance before and after, with clear red text when you don’t have the funds. A “Preview Interior” button takes you inside before you commit.
SECTION 03 The hard parts

We’ve been honest with you on the rough weeks and we’re going to keep being honest on the good ones. The team has had its share of long nights and one or two genuinely difficult stretches. Burnout is real, the FiveM and CitizenFX porting work has had its dragons, and there’s been a couple of refactors where we threw away a perfectly fine implementation because the architecture wasn’t going to scale once you all hit it for real.

Net effect: more code, fewer regressions, and a build that we’re actually willing to put your name on. We’re proud of the team for getting through it.

SECTION 04 The timeline
ⓘ Two Fridays, not one
To avoid any confusion: when we say “next Friday” we mean the Friday after the Friday that’s coming.
  • This Friday (5 June): internal stability week. No public access yet. Final QA and load tests on the build.
  • Friday 13 June: the fully working version lands. The setup period opens on the same day, which gives you the weekend to pick up your character, look around, claim a property, and get settled before the proper launch flow begins.

If anything changes we’ll say so publicly the moment we know. Right now, everything points at hitting the date with headroom to spare.

SECTION 05 Faction forums and websites
ⓘ Every faction, its own front door
In parallel with the game work, we’ve been quietly building out the web side for the official factions. Each faction is getting its own dedicated website on its own subdomain, with its own forum, its own application flow, and its own brand treatment.

Already live or near final:

  • Los Santos Police Departmentlspd.roleplayproject.net with citations, crime reporting, records requests, the IAD complaint flow, applications, and the officer portal.
  • City of Los Santos (gov)gov.roleplayproject.net for permits, mayoral updates, and resident services.
  • San Andreas Fire Marshal’s Office, Los Santos Fire & Medical, San Andreas Highway Patrol — faction sites in active development.

Single sign on works the same everywhere — your RPP account signs you into every faction site automatically. No second password, no second login. We’ll do a separate post when the remaining factions go live.

SECTION 06 Closing
✔ See you on Friday 13 June
Thanks for sticking with us. We know the wait has felt long. We’ve been spending it making something we think you’ll actually enjoy. We’ll have another update next week with anything material that changes, and a full feature post the day the build opens.
